Visiting University of Philippines Diliman (UPD)

A Memorable Visit to the University of the Philippines Diliman: Fostering Connection and Cultural Exchange

At the start and end of our trip, our PL10 members visited the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD), creating an enriching experience for both our dedicated volunteers and the brilliant students and partners we had the pleasure of meeting. These visits served as an opportunity to build bridges, foster connections, and promote cultural exchange in an environment of mutual learning and growth.

Meeting Partners and Students:

Upon arrival, our volunteers were warmly welcomed by the professors of the University of the Philippines Diliman. The university's partners generously shared their knowledge, experiences, and insights to prepare us for the journey that awaited us in Zambales.

Interaction:

Interaction formed a significant part of our visit, as volunteers and university members engaged in meaningful discussions, exchanging ideas, and learning from each other's unique perspectives.

Community Integration Talk:

One of the highlights of our visit was a community integration talk, where both volunteers and UPD partners had the chance to discuss the importance of community involvement and the positive impact it can have on society. The talk facilitated an open dialogue on social issues, inspiring participants to take action and make a difference in their respective communities.

Cultural Exchange:

To further enhance the cultural exchange experience, our volunteers and the UPD students participated in group discussions that encouraged the sharing of ideas, values, and traditions. Through this cultural exchange, volunteers gained a deeper appreciation for Filipino culture, while university students learned about different perspectives and practices from our Singaporean volunteers.

Sharing and Lasting Connections:

Throughout the visit, our volunteers had the chance to share their experiences, skills, and knowledge with the students, while also learning from the expertise and insights of their hosts. This sharing of ideas and experiences created lasting connections and laid the foundation for potential future collaborations.

Conclusion:

The visit to the University of the Philippines Diliman was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on both our volunteers and the students and partners of the university. The experience fostered mutual learning, cultural exchange, and community integration, strengthening bonds and inspiring all involved to continue making a positive impact on society. As an organization dedicated to volunteerism, we look forward to further collaborations with UPD and other institutions as we strive to create a better, more interconnected world.
