Project Luminaire was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that gave me a new perspective on community service and taught me to appreciate everything I have. Throughout the journey, I formed meaningful connections with the children and communities, whose pure joy and gratitude left a lasting impact on me.

One of the most meaningful parts of the journey was teaching the children and forming genuine connections with them. Every day, they would run up to greet me with big hugs, and at the end of school, they would hold onto my hand and refuse to let go. Despite the language barrier, their warmth and affection made every interaction special. The joy I felt while teaching them and seeing their smiles is something that nothing else could ever compare to.

Helping to install solar lights in the different neighbourhoods was another unforgettable part of the project. Interacting with the residents and seeing the happiness and gratitude on their faces after the lights were installed was one of the most rewarding feelings in the world. It showed me that even a simple act of service can make a meaningful difference in someone’s daily life.

Project Luminaire has made me much more grateful for the opportunities and comforts I often take for granted. The memories I created, the friendships I formed and the connections I made with the children and communities are irreplaceable. This experience will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be grateful that I got this opportunity to serve, learn and grow.
