Recce Trip

The journey of a thousand miles begins with booking a plane ticket – to Zambales, Philippines to be exact. In March 2026, Project Luminaire kicked off with our Project Directors’ recce trip to our partner school and beneficiary communities. 

This was the team’s first opportunity to meet the team at Liter of Light, whose warmth and experience immediately put our nerves at ease. Together with our community partners, our Project Directors spent the next few days learning about the current needs of both the school and wider community. These conversations lit the way for the months of planning that followed by providing a clearer understanding of how we could thoughtfully shape our programmes to ensure that our efforts would be meaningful and relevant to those we hoped to serve.

We are grateful to the previous batches of Project Luminaire batch for laying the groundwork before us, building strong relationships and fostering trust within the community. As we stepped into our own journey, we carried forward the foundation they had established, with the responsibility of continuing to nurture these connections and create an impact of our own.
