Shen Lu

Volunteering in Zambales was a profoundly humbling experience. Witnessing the locals’ daily struggles to secure basic necessities like food, electricity, and education made me deeply appreciate the privileges I had long taken for granted. Stepping beyond my comfort zone as a head chef by planning and preparing meals for 100 children during the feeding program, as well as engaging in teaching activities, helped me develop valuable skills and touched my heart in unexpected ways. This experience fostered a greater sense of empathy and gratitude, inspiring a lasting commitment to contribute meaningfully whenever I can.
