I decided to volunteer as the programmes director as I had a positive experience being a programmes member in the previous iteration for PL11. I wanted to give the PL12 members the same positive experience that I had and wanted to try leadership experience. Going back as the programmes director felt completely different than the programmes member as I had additional responsibilities such as looking after the members and ensuring that the lesson plans we had crafted for the children of Alao elementary were running smoothly. I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the members as we could forge close relationships with one another and I enjoyed serving the children as it felt very meaningful and fulfilling to put a smile on the children's face. Volunteering as a leader this time impacted me differently as it gave me the invaluable experience of leading a team and allowed me to discover my leadership style.
