Back in secondary school, I was given the opportunity to travel overseas to Malacca to bless and educate some orphans there. This experience left a lasting impression on me . It inspired a desire to not only give back to my local community but also to reach out to communities beyond Singapore.

When I came across Project Luminaire on their Instagram page, I was moved by their mission and the nature of their work in the Philippines. I saw it as a meaningful opportunity to extend a helping hand to less privileged communities while also cultivating a deeper appreciation for what I have here at home.

Initially, 15 days away from home seemed like a long time. However, the 2 weeks really flew by. Throughout the trip the team remained focused and motivated by our shared goal of giving back. Along the way, we built strong camaraderie and unity, making the journey all the more rewarding. Serving alongside such dedicated team members, sharing laughs, and creating lifelong memories made this an unforgettable chapter in my journey of service and growth.
