Project Luminaire 12 is something I hold incredibly close to my heart. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead this iteration which is not something I could have done on my own. What made it truly meaningful was the collective effort of everyone in the team. We supported one another through the highs and lows, always coming back to the same purpose: to make a difference in the lives of under-resourced communities.

Stepping into a leadership role gave me a different perspective. I got to witness my members immerse themselves fully and create heartfelt connections. Seeing their growth and genuine joy was the most rewarding part for me. It reminded me that the countless months of planning were all worth it.

Having once been a member of Project Luminaire 11, I can say with certainty that no two trips ever feel the same. Not once did it feel repetitive. Each day brought new stories and new emotions, moments that could only be experienced right then and there.

Every day spent with the community felt like a gift. I reminded myself to truly be present and to soak in each moment. That is when I saw the most authentic side of the children. They found joy in the simplest things, which warmed my heart.

This experience was also a powerful reminder of what it means to be grateful. You do not find happiness when you achieve more, or when you have more. You find it when you choose to be grateful with what you already have.

I will always be grateful to my co-project director, excos and members for trusting me to lead, and for putting your hearts into making Project Luminaire 12 what it was. While we may have gone there to serve, I walk away with so much more.
