LUMINAIRE
Chloe Tan
Stepping up as Marketing Director for Project Luminaire 12 was a real growth process for me. During the fundraiser, I pushed myself to lead by example, showing up for shifts every day, speaking with people, and sharing our cause. Approaching strangers was initially difficult, but I learned how to connect with them and make others believe in what we were working toward. It wasn’t just about raising money but creating trust and interest in something meaningful.
Seeing those funds turn into solar lamps made all the effort worthwhile. I remember helping build them piece by piece and realising that every conversation I had back at the fundraiser was now shaping into something tangible. The children’s faces when we were building the lights stayed with me the most. For them, it meant studying after dark, walking home safely, and enjoying simple parts of childhood that should never be taken for granted.
I also gained new experiences in creating marketing collaterals abroad. Operating cameras and drones was exciting, but what I valued most was capturing moments. Looking back on the trip to Zambales, I was reminded once again, that serving underserved communities was more about restoring opportunities and hope in places that were often overlooked.
