Recce Trip

In January 2025, our team from Project Luminaire 12 embarked on our first trip to Zambales, Philippines. We revisited the same community previously supported by Project Luminaire 11. Although we were initially a little nervous, meeting the friendly and experienced team from Liter of Light quickly gave us a sense of reassurance.

Despite having a packed schedule, we worked closely and effectively as a team to represent SMU and prepare for the next phase of our project. This reconnaissance trip helped us better understand the current needs of both the school and the wider community, which allowed us to shape our plans more thoughtfully.

We are thankful for the strong foundation laid by the previous batch and the meaningful relationships they built. As we gear up for the next stage of our journey, we hope this experience will guide us in making a positive and lasting impact.
