I signed up for PL11 expecting to contribute to the community through the solar light installations and engaging with the local children, but i was really pleasantly surprise by how meaningful simply immersing myself in their way of life was. One thing that stood out the most was how simple and joyful life there was, and the bonds formed with the people and children were irreplacable.I enjoyed just being in the moment while the locals showed us their way of living in very different ways - the children sharing their reverence for a local beetle, plucking them off the walls and bringing them into class, the teachers passion for educating indegenious population, and making friends with the tour guides and their families.

This trip really opened my eyes to what it means to be human, where unpredictable things happen on the daily, but it is through adapting to it and enjoying the process with the new relationships formed, with both project members and the people of the Philippines that gave so much meaning to the trip and the work done there
