Amber Tan

Programme Executive

The mission of PL intrigued me, and that was what prompted me to sign up for this OCSP. The idea of providing sustainable energy to impoverished societies on top of education and feeding programs differentiated this project from all the others. I was excited to be able to make a lasting difference, and light up the lives of communities that may feel neglected by the system. I am so grateful that I was able to be a part of making a difference during my time there. I hope that by interacting with the children and communities in Zambales, we assured them that they weren’t alone, and that someone was looking out for them, albeit hundreds of kilometres away. This experience was truly special, and I learnt that I was able to do so much more for those around me. I learnt that a key to happiness was gratitude, gratitude for the little things.
